Human perception is the analysis of data through coding built from our biology and experiences. Like a machine, we are made of complex systems that work together to perform the function of living. Unlike technology, we’re able to expand on ideas and they transform within us. By using motion as a medium in the form of performance, animation, and kinetic sculpture, Daniel Morales calls attention to the reductive human tendency to view the world through a binary lens. They challenge their audience to look past their own biases and consider the systems that make up our world from a new angle. No singular point of view holds the answer, and by examining how these systems connect, we can begin to understand the purpose of the human algorithm.
